Memberships And Donations
Becoming an Individual Member
If you become a CLGRO member, you will receive our newsletter and a membership card, but most importantly, you will help support a great organization.
Memberships are $40 - or $20 for students or unwaged people - valid for one year from the date of payment.
Additional donations are always appreciated and are used to pay our operating expenses and fund projects. Donations are not tax-deductible since we are a political, activist organization.
To try to reduce the need to be repeatedly asking for donations, CLGRO has developed the CLGRO trustfund from which only the interest will be used for operating expenses.
CLGRO Monthly Giving Program
Like all grassroots organizations, CLGRO struggles constantly to maintain a dependable source of funding to sustain our many activities. Annual membership renewals and other periodic donations are always greatly appreciated, but there are many times when the bank accounts are empty and we wonder how we will keep going. You can help alleviate that problem through monthly giving.
It's easy, it's painless and it will make a big difference!
You can spread your donation over monthly contributions that will be hardly noticeable to you, and in the process you may even be able to increase somewhat the amount you would normally give. We'd be ecstatic and the constant worry of making ends meet would be significantly reduced.
Also, donations adding up to $40 ($20 for the unwaged) or more annually will cover your CLGRO membership fee.
May we count on your support?
Full Group Membership
Full group membership is for groups that
- have the primary purpose of meeting the needs of the lesbian, gay, and bisexual communities,

The member group receives the newsletter and minutes of AGMs, steering committee meetings, etc, helps make consensus-based decisions, and can vote at all CLGRO meetings.
Supporting Group Membership
Supporting group membership is for groups
- whose primary purpose may not be that of meeting the needs of the lesbian, gay, and bisexual communities but
- who support the mission statement and
- pay a suggested annual membership fee on a sliding scale based on the income of the group, as follows:
| Group Income | CLGRO Membership Rate |

Come to Meetings!
Anyone is welcome to come to steering committee meetings, which are held three times a year. The meetings are run on consensus-based decision making. Everyone present is welcome to speak, to help us discuss policy and projects, and contribute to deciding on political positions ands activities.
If it comes to a vote: individual members in good standing can vote at the AGM but not at steering committee meetings unless elected as a member-at-large. CLGRO has up to six members-at-large (no more than three of whom may be men), who represent the individual members of CLGRO. It's a really good way of getting involved!
